How A Pontiac Sunbird Proved Visualization Works

Perhaps you’ve heard my story before. When I was younger I was a prolific reader and engrossed myself in a lot of self-improvement books. Learning how to use visualization is a big part of self-improvement. In another post about “Using Visualization to Get Where You Want to Go“, I said that I would relate a pretty amazing story that happened earlier in my life where visualization played a primary role.

I’ve had numerous occurrences in my life which have emphasized to me the power of visualization, and why I recommend you add it to your list of daily activities.

I’m restating it, but there is an old saying that “If you don’t know where you want to go, then you’ll probably never get there.”

Goal Setting and Visualization

It’s important to document what your short term and long term goals are.

Be as precise as you can.

Where do you picture yourself in the next 3 months? A year from now? How about in 5 years?

Find a few minutes each day to start visualizing yourself accomplishing your goals. Use your mind’s eye to see yourself in that moment and be as detail oriented as possible.

In the video above, I mention how I not only visualized the make and model of the car I saw myself driving, but I also saw the color in detail.

God has given you an amazing gift in your subconscious mind. It can do remarkable things. However, most people hardly use any of it’s potent powers.

Your subconscious wants to please you. It wants to assist you in accomplishing your goals.

But in order for it to help you, your subconscious needs good data.

The old computer term “garbage in, garbage out” comes to mind.

Feed your subconscious with bad data (negativity and despair), and that is what you will will more than likely get in your life.

Input good data (positivity and belief), and it will work overtime to provide you with all you desire.

The Power of Belief and Visualization

Belief is an intriguing concept that many people misunderstand.

It’s not your personal beliefs, religious beliefs, or a belief system.

Belief is NOT wishful thinking.

Belief is a psychological state of mind in which someone holds a proposition or position to be absolutely true.

Faith is a type of belief.

The Bible states in Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Lets examine this definition from a story found in Matthew 9:27-30. Two blind men went to Jesus and asked Him to heal them. But before He did so He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” and they answered, “Yes, Lord.” “Then He touched their eyes saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.’ And their eyes were opened.”

The two blind men had faith and belief that Jesus would restore their sight before He ever did. They knew if their mind’s eye that they would receive what they asked Jesus for. They believed.

Have faith in advance that whatever you visualize will become reality.

Because what you think about, does become your reality.

Teach yourself mental visualization techniques by practicing doing them. The more you do it, the better you will get.

You may be amazed at what you can achieve in your life.
